At Eastwood Physio and Rehab Clinic, we work in partnership with Eastwood Private Hospital to provide all your physiotherapy care during your stay. Our highly experienced clinical team works in close collaboration with your surgical, medical, and nursing staff to ensure your recovery is safe, coordinated, and that you feel confident when it is time to return home.
Who We See
We provide physiotherapy care across all surgical areas at the hospital, as required. Our experienced team is here to support you throughout your stay:
Day Surgery (Level 3): We focus on ensuring you are safe, comfortable, and mobile for a successful same-day discharge.
Inpatient Wards (Level 4): We provide you with daily support and progressive rehabilitation if you require an overnight or an extended stay before returning home.

Our highly experienced inpatient physiotherapy team provides expert post-operative care for a wide range of orthopaedic surgeries, including:
Hip & Knee Procedures
Joint Replacements: Total Hip and Total Knee replacements.
Keyhole Surgery: Arthroscopic procedures (scopes) for the hip and knee.
Soft Tissue & Ligament Repairs: Including Meniscal repairs, ACL reconstructions, and Gluteal tendon repairs.
Trauma & Fracture Management: Comprehensive rehabilitation following traumatic injuries.
Shoulder & Upper Limb Procedures
Joint Replacements: Total Shoulder and Reverse Total Shoulder replacements.
Rotator Cuff Care: Advanced rehabilitation for tendon repairs and reconstructions.
Joint Stability: Labral repairs and shoulder stabilisation procedures.
Keyhole Surgery: Arthroscopic "scopes" to address impingement or wear and tear.

What to Expect Following Surgery
Pending your type of surgery and length of admission, our physiotherapy team will provide care accordingly. We focus on helping you regain your mobility safely and building your confidence and independence before you leave the hospital.
Your inpatient physiotherapy care will likely involve:
Surgical Education: Providing clear information regarding your procedure and any physical restrictions.
Early Mobilisation: Prescribing tailored exercises to assist with circulation and movement in the early stages of recovery.
Discharge Planning & Equipment: Arranging necessary equipment, such as braces, splints, or walking aids. For your convenience, patients have the option to hire or purchase required equipment directly on the ward.
Coordinating Your Ongoing Care: If required, we help arrange follow-up physiotherapy based on your surgeon's recommendation. We ensure a smooth transition to your next stage of recovery, which may include a referral to:

Rehab in the Home (RITH)
Your preferred community physiotherapist
